Our Story
At 12 years old, I started spending my summers and days off from school working alongside my grandfather and uncles at a family construction company. That’s where I learned the value of hard work and was introduced to the trade—starting as a laborer and eventually working my way up to an equipment operator.
Over the years, I gained experience building roads, installing storm drains, water mains, and sewer systems, and working on a wide range of construction projects. Those early years laid the foundation for everything we do today.
In 1997, my wife Rhonda and I decided to start our own business and founded MTP Trucking Inc. What began as a small, family-run operation quickly grew through dedication, long hours, and a commitment to doing every job the right way.
Back then, Shayne was just five years old and already loved being around trucks and job sites. I’d strap his car seat into the tri-axle, and he would spend hours riding along with me.
That passion never left. Once he was old enough, Shayne earned his CDL and joined the business. As we grew, so did the company—becoming MTP & Son Trucking & Excavating Inc.
Today, we’re proud to continue building this business together as a family. We believe in honest work, treating people right, and delivering results our customers can depend on. We have recently expanded our services to include foundation remediation as an approved and qualified vendor for CRCOG (Capitol Region Council of Governments).
